We're Here! Part 2

We've had some ups and downs, but it looks like being connected and mobile made everyone feel better. Grace has taken to practicing the piano non-stop and Nick has found the Wii to be good therapy (thank goodness we packed that in the suitcase!). We've driven around both today and yesterday, checking things out. Today, we actually found a Starbucks! I also figured out how to get to work and will do a dry run tomorrow morning.

The people we've met so far have been awesome! Our sponsors, Debbie and Ed Sullivan picked us up at the airport and brought us home. They also fixed up our house by making the beds, which was a nice thing to have done after a long flight. The next day, we went over to the Sullivans, who have a 9 year old son who loves the Wii alsmost as much as Nick does. Needless to say, Nick was happy for hours and hours. Later that evening, we had dinner with the Sullivans and Dan's new boss, Robert. While our first dinner was Papa John's pizza, our second meal was hamburgers and macaroni and cheese. Definitely needing the comfort foods!

We've posted some pictures of our house. It's a great place, with a pool and small work out room right across the drive way. We went swimming this afternoon--I think the water was just as warm as the air. Nevertheless, it was good to get wet and have some exercise outdoors.

Tomorrow starts our work week. I hope everyone has a great weekend. We'll write back soon.

  1. When we got home from Pitt yesterday, your car was still here. For a minute, I thought "the pattarinis are home" and then reality set back in. We're missing y'all. Things just aren't the same around here without you! AND we're wondering how you're going to come back to Mosby St. after seeing your temporary home! Wow!
