Omani Holiday

So, we were off from school and work this whole week and decided to get out of Muscat for a little break. We headed about 150km north to a town called Sohar. It's actually the home of Sinbad. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Sohar, which had a great pool, table tennis, billiards, and a 4 lane bowling alley. The kids woke us up the first morning with a detailed schedule of the day, including breakfast, swimming in the pool, and bowling. We tried to see the sites in the small town area but the castle and fort were closed for renovations and everything else was closed for the Eid holiday. Beaches are never closed, though, so we spent some time jumping in the waves. We don't get many waves here in the protected area of Muscat, so that in itself was worth the trip.
